so I'll make it quick cause Im kinda hogging the computer.
camp ends in like 15 days. I'm renting an apartment in manhattan with another guy from camp for 4 nights. we found it through craiglist, its with this girl. then on the 22nd each of us goes to a different place.
then I booked a hostel in brooklyn for 3 nights, in lafayette Av. I took the cheapest one but it looks nice. I hope i wont get killed :( the biggest disadvantage in it is I need to take like 2 subways to get to manhattan.

I dont really have plans from there, I might take a train to DC on the 25th. should I take a train or bus? should I book a train ticket in advance? does any one know of a hostel or something that I should book a place in?

[info]bluejar, [info]frogroar and me are gonna hang in NYC :) and maybe go to Austin. that is if I wont run out of money by the end of september. or get killed on the subway.

anyway, im doing good. eating a lot.

My parents got a huge cell phone bill. Next time im in Target/Wallmart im buying an american cell phone.

I miss my friends.

im actually excited about starting school.

most of the time im actually have fun :)

yesterday was probably my best day yet in the states.
On Monday night I rented a car. I had to drive it like 14 miles from the agency to the camp which was an experience. I got to camp, then me and 3 other people drove to New Port, Rhode Island. It was so amazing. I loved it. I had such a blast. I have so much to write about, and it will involve pictures and drama. We slept an a hotel called The Best Western or something, had dinner and some bar, had breakfast and Starbucks. then we drove around the coast line, it was so awesomely wicked. we took so many pictures and videos.
we went into a liquor store and almost joined a gang.

camp ends in like 3 weeks, time flies so fast.
I dont know how many days i'll stay in NYC, at least 4. from there I'll try booking a hostel in DC, whenever that'll be, I dont know.

Im having a good time :)

omg we went to Target and they had America's Next Top Model barbie dolls:

I didnt get one though. for real, there's a line even I wont cross.

so much is going on, I can't write about it here since there's always a line to use the computer, and my emotional posts take time. seriously, i'm covering every range of emotion.

Its been about a month since I've left home. I kinda miss my friends and family, but in the same time I'm loving it here. from time to time i like catch myself and say "omg im in the states". I'm having a good time.

to all the people who wrote, called, supported, THANK YOU. you're amazing.

omg.

I really want to write lyrics, but I dont want to go through that awkward stage every song writer goes through, where they write really crappy songs before they write the really good ones.

This face in my dreams seizes my guts
He floods me with dread
Soaked in soul
He swims in my eyes by the bed
Pour myself over him
Moon spilling in
And I wake up alone

I'd like to add that im having an amazing time.

I'm looking for a song I heard late last night on the radio, I tried googling the one line I remember, but can't find it.

the chorus goes "cause every day's all we have..." and then I think the next line, but im not sure, is- "am I some kind of...". its sang by a female artist. It could be Kylie Minogue, the song is kinda old I think.

and for your effort I give you a video [info]adidi took in january, when were were in Eilat. I was trying to teach the americans how to eat a french crepe:

can someone please explain to me why the american memorial day seems to be like a happy day for you? you go out on trips, bbqs, parties and stuff - am i missing something here? isnt it suppose to be the day you remember the dead? Im not passing judgment, I'm really trying to understand. cause in Israel, on memorial day, every thing stops. the shops close early, the radio plays sad music, schools dedicate the day to subjects concerning the day. there's even a 2 minute siren across the country where people just stop what they're doing, get out of their cars, anything and just stand silently. everything is different, you can feel it in the air. Im not saying what you're doing is bad, every culture handles grief differently. but why are people writing stuff like "happy memorial day"? please educate me :)

Israeli tourist strips in anger at New Zealand men's whistles

An Israeli tourist who felt harassed when New Zealand road workers whistled at her Thursday stripped naked in response, police said.

Workmen in the small northern farming town of Kerikeri were repairing the main street when the young woman took offense at their attention.

On a balmy late-autumn day, she calmly stripped bare to use an ATM - bringing an abrupt halt to both the whistles and the road work - then put her clothes back on and walked away.

Sgt. Peter Masters said the woman told police she didn't take kindly to the men's wolf-whistles.

"She said she had thought '... I'll show them what I've got,' as the men
whistled at her," he said.

"She gave the explanation that she had been ... pestered by New Zealand men. She's not an unattractive-looking lady," he said.

Police treated the incident as a one-off.

"She was taken back to the police station and spoken to and told that was
inappropriate (behavior) in New Zealand," he added.

The woman was due to leave New Zealand later Thursday

im sorry but Mahatma told it like it is:

...spending your time in some negative memory won’t help you after you have learned the lessons you can learn from that experience. You’ll probably just cause yourself more suffering and paralyze yourself from taking action in this present moment.

If you don’t forgive then you let the past and another person to control how you feel. By forgiving you release yourself from those bonds. And then you can focus totally on, for instance, the next point.

Do you know that feeling you get when you like dream that someone is lying in bed with you, and you feel so warm and awesome, and suddenly you wake up reach your arm across the bed, and when you see its empty you realize it was just a dream and you feel all disappointed? ISNT THAT THE SHITTIEST WAY TO START OFF YOUR DAY???

today at work this customer came up to me. we didnt have the jeans in the size she wanted. we started talking. she looked like she was in her late 20's/early 30's. she was ok looking, even cute. after a few seconds of small talk, the conversation started to get past that customer/sales person stage. no it didnt get romantic, I mean like seriously depressing. she had this sadness to her, this gloom. you know how depressed insecure people make jokes about themselves all the time, to cover the sadness? anyway she kept saying how much weight she gained lately and how fat she is. you could see it wasnt the usual "omg im so fat" many people say, it was something deeper. now seriously, she wasnt fat at all. like, she was on the border between normal and curvy. she looked like a normal woman. if she walked past you, you'd never think she's fat.
so we talked and I was like "are you kidding me?! you're not fat!" and she like dropped small hints that she had her heart broken and it resulted in a month of non stop eating and depression. she was like the cliche of a pretty girl being dumped by a jerk and losing control. and I was like "you're hot, you shouldn't have this low body image". she looked like she was about to cry, and we started talking about whats "normal" and there I was with a woman I met like 10 minutes earlier, being her shrink, trying to encourage her.
she was so sweet, we were like best friends after 15 minutes. she was like "every time I feel bad im gonna call the store to see if you have a shift that day!".

I know my journal if far from deep or meaningful, but seriously, it is so fucked up how the media controls our views concerning body image and what is "sexy" and "normal". I'm a bit of a hypocrite, cause with all my ~real people have curves~ bullshit, I'd kill to look like those tall build smooth men you see on tv. even my niece will sometimes complain about how she thinks she's fat and she's not even 5 yet.

that conversation with that woman made me think about my future career. I really want to help people. I want to be part of a community im living in. I dont know what my profession will be, but I feel part of it will be about helping others. omg you guys you think she was like an ~angel~ sent by God to guide me? :)

Last night was the passover dinner, and we had like 19 people over. it was hilarious, my family is so jewish white trash. expect everyone has a law degree.
yeah so this post is mostly about pictures of me. you know, as opposed to the rest of my posts that are about world financial issues and environmental solutions.
I dont know why after almost 6 (!!!) years of having this journal I still feel the need to apologize every time I post pictures of myself.
and im not lj-cutting this so you're kinda forced to see all the pictures :)

omg I have the same shirt:

I think its cool that me and my 2.5 years old nephew shop at the same store :)

My niece actually took this picture. ok yeah the jeans might be too low, but thats what god (and my sisters credit card) gave me.

and some movies i've seen lately:

i loved it.

LOVE IT. it made me want to be a 18th century european aristocrat.
